Swedish contribution to the Comenius magazine.



Our Comenius friends



Pen pals: In the project we started a pen pal system where the students could get to know each other and learn more about other cultures as well as to get a better understanding for the English language. The students, when asked, thought it was fun to write letters in English, and furthermore they said that it is a good training to write in English and not only speak. They also liked that it was real people receiving the letters whereas in other cases the teacher asks them to write a letter to no one.



Methods: The students like to work on Comenius tasks because they are different. Sometimes they draw pictures and sometimes they construct things with different materials, as well as the production of texts. They also expressed a positive comment on the methods of choosing. They have been asked to vote on different artistic work such as a logo for the project. This gave them a chance to apply democracy in school and how voting is realized.


Spreading: Through the Comenius space in our schools the students learnt something about geography and they have looked up where the other schools are located on a European map. Furthermore this space has triggered there lust to learn another foreign language such as Italian. They want to know what the different folders say and what all the names mean in the different languages.


Upcoming: They are also excited about the upcoming tasks such as the Skype conference and the construction of our flag which is the poster about world peace.
