Ciao from Italia! The Comenius Project sounds very interesting and I am looking forward to letting the children take part in the project - Listen the children are talking!
Lerici is a very beautiful and scenic place. The views of the seafront with the boats, castles and cliffs are amazing! The five lands trip was an experience it is ahsmae we could not see all of them due to miscommunication and timing of the trip.
The school in Italia is an Institute which has 2 pre-primary school, 5 primary schools and 3 secondary schools. They are all in different areas. The number of pupils in each class ranges from 16-20. The classteacher is responsible for two classes. The schools here do not have teacher assistants. Childrens work here is displayed on large pieces of sugar paper instead of display boards. The children seem very happy in their surroundings and I have noticed their handwriting is always joined up beautifully. I was impressed with how across the school Number in terms of partitioning is taught by having hundreds always written in green pencil crayon, tens in red and the units in ones e.g. 123, 67. The shcools here do not seem as advance as our school in terms of ICT. Teachers write on blackboards and there is an ICT room with about 10 computers.
I am looking forward to posting the activities my class will be doing for the comenius project on the blog.
Ciao for now Bindya.
